The agency finished following all contacts traced from the case, establishing that no additional cases emerged in March.
The health security agency declared that the population risk remained minimal as they conducted investigations on the transmission source of northeast England’s individual mpox, Reuters reported.
What are the experts stating?

Jonas Albarnaz of the Pirbright Institute described the case as “surprising” because formerly detected patients either traveled to an affected area or contacted someone who had the infection.
According to Albarnaz, “It’s likely that it was acquired from another infected person, via direct contact either with skin lesions or with contaminated surfaces or objects,” as per the Reuters reports.
A new virus form classified as clade lb exists as linked to the World Health Organization (WHO) declaration of a global health emergency, which occurred in August.
On March 8, UKHSA decided to stop treating the clade la and lb mpox strains as high-priority infection diseases.
